Published Friday 13th March 2020 Following   the   ongoing   worldwide   pandemic   concerning   the   COVID-19   virus   the   Football Association   of   Wales   has today suspended all domestic football with immediate effect. In a statement released on the FAW website they state: “The   Football Association   of   Wales   has   today   (13   March)   taken   the   decision   to   suspend   domestic   football   at   all   levels   in   Wales   with   immediate   effect   until   4 April due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The intention at this time will be to resume the football schedule depending on the medical advice and conditions from the relevant authorities at that time.  The   FAW   is   fully   aware   of   the   impact   this   will   have   on   the   domestic   game   but   the   health   and   safety   of   all   fans,   players,   volunteers   and   stakeholders   are   of paramount importance. The FAW will continue to monitor this situation on a day-by-day basis and will continue to provide updates when appropriate”. Club Secretary David Sweet also released a statement on behalf of the Club: “As   you   will   have   seen,   the   FAW   have   suspended   all   organised   football   matches   in   wales.   They   have,   however,   left   the   decision   as   to   whether   to   suspend training   and   other   club   activity   to   individual   clubs.   The   committee   of Aberdare   Town   FC   has   decided   that   all   football   activity   is   suspended   with   immediate   effect. There are to be no training sessions or team/section meetings to take place until further notice. Whilst   I   am   sure   you   will   be   frustrated   by   this,   the   health   and   well-being   of   our   players,   coaches   and   volunteers   must   be   at   the   front   and   centre   of   our   minds   at this time”. The Clubs next scheduled Comedy Night which was due to take place on Saturday 21st March has also been canceled. [UPDATE 23.03.19 - the FAW has extended the suspension of domestic football until the 30th April 2020]
