Published Thursday 4th June 2020 With preparations for the new season underway being finalised the Club have made the decision to change their female team name. Since their formation the team was known as Aberdare Town Ladies but for the season ahead they will now be known as the more modern name of Aberdare Town Women as the Clubs continuing re-branding of our female side of the Club. Meanwhile new boss Zoe Denman Ellis has been working hard on putting together a new playing squad along with her backroom team and have now added four new faces to her coaching team. Joining the Club is vastly experienced Annalise Britton as assistant manager/player, John Batt as kit manager, Liam Pryor as goalkeeping coach and Leanne Williams as coach. Speaking of the appointments Zoe said: “In Annalise is a player who has played in the Welsh Women's League, a qualified referee and has 15 years of coaching experience, including at Barry Town. I'm excited to bring her into this role, and she will be heavily involved in the recruitment of players leading up to the season start. “John Batt is our Kit Manager and an appointment I'm really proud of. It's so important for the ladies to enter a dressing room with clean kit and boots, all set up and ready for them before a game. Regardless of which league we are in, it's important the players are made to feel looked after. He will also be using his experience as a Coach at Barry Town and as a goalkeeping coach, to assist with the squad on training and match days. “Liam Pryor is an ex goalkeeper for Aberdare Town as well as Penywaun men's side, taking them to top of the league, and gaining promotion. He's our lead goalkeeper coach and already does work with our current U16's girls and we look forward to making him a more permanent feature within the women's side. “The final appointment is Leanne Williams who is another exciting appointment and she will be working alongside me as a coach” “I have a strong backroom staff behind me that all agree with the clubs vision and my own for the future of women's football at Aberdare. We're all really proud and excited to get started in making history here...the future is Aberdare”.
