Published Monday 26 July 2019 Aberdare Town are delighted to announce that they now have an Under 18 side back at the Club with immediate effect. The team will be competing in the South Wales Youth League and will be managed by Carwyn Speck and Damien Pinch who have already set about assembling a squad ready for the start of the new season. Speaking of joining the Club Carwyn said: “We are thrilled with the chance of joining Aberdare and have been made to feel so welcome already. We just want the lads to be able to play football and with the Club already stating its desire to develop players from within its own structure this is a great opportunity for local players to progress into adult Welsh League football. Both Damien and myself can’t wait to get started”. Director of Football Martyn Phillips was also pleased with the new additions to the Club: “We have a long term plan of where we want the Club to go and an Under 18 side fell part of that. We thought we would need to let that grow organically by using the teams we already had but the introduction of a whole new team of players now puts us two years ahead of our schedule and is a welcome bonus for us all. We will work with Carwyn and Damien to help them settle in to the way we do things as a Club”. The Club now urgently require a new kit for the team and already have secured a sponsor for the front of the kits but also require a back of kit and sleeve sponsor too.
