Published Friday 19th June 2020 (updated 20th June 2020) Since yesterday’s post confirming the dismissal of Joshua Evans as manager of the Men’s team, the club and committee have received numerous messages of criticism. Some of those messages are from concerned supporters and some are from the usual mix of keyboard warriors and others who have their own agenda against the club. Regardless of the motivation for that criticism, they are probably correct. The statement, whilst factually correct, was not representative of the club we are striving to be and for that the committee apologises unreservedly. As Josh has set out in his statement, at interview he informed the committee that he had a FAW C Licence. Whilst it is not a prerequisite to manage at our level it is what the club asked for and what Josh said he had. Sometime into his tenure he was asked to provide a copy of his certificate but informed the committee it had been lost and continued inform the club it was lost on a number of occasions before finally admitting that he did not hold the qualification he said he had and this is the dis-honesty referred to in the club statement. The breaches of club policy though are internal matters and are not for discussion in a public forum. During his time with the club, Josh was enthusiastic and committed, there is no doubt about that. However, trust is fragile and a breach of the trust between the committee and the manager made his position at the club untenable. The way in which the decision was announced was mid-judged but the decision to part company with Josh was not and the search for his replacement begins immediately.
