Published Sunday 19 January 2020 The weather halted any senior games for the Club again this weekend but for two different reasons! On Friday evening the mens team were due to play a local derby against Penrhiwceiber Rangers but because of the heavy rain of the days leadings up to the match and then more heavy showers on the day itself a pitch inspection deemed the pitch unplayable. Fast forward to Sunday afternoon and the ladies were set to take centre stage under caretaker boss Ronnie Chase with Villa Dino Christchurch due to visit Aberaman Park, however, the sub zero overnight temperatures left the pitch frozen solid. Despite leaving the inspection till as late as possible to get the game played the low temperatures meant the pitch wasn’t going to thaw in time and with the temperatures dropping as the afternoon went on it would have been frozen solid again before the scheduled full time whistle. Both games are now set to be re-arranged with both our teams still with lots of games left to play after a frustrating season because of the weather.
