Published Sunday 21st March 2021 Aberdare Town’s Hope Williams has completed a transfer to Cardiff City LFC. Team manager Zoe Denman-Ellis said of the move: “I'm so excited for Hope in her move to premier league side Cardiff City U19's, and although she'll be sorely missed at Aberdare next season, it's important she makes this move for her continued development and I can't wait to follow her progress within a top tier club. She will be a great addition to their side, with her incredible pace. I'm glad to see players being picked up by bigger league teams, as the next step in her development, if it means she has a chance to play at a higher level." I wish Hope the very best of success in her new role for Cardiff City, thank her for her commitment to Aberdare through the youth system and into the Senior squad and look forward to the bright future she has ahead of her” With Hope moving on Zoe was mindful of losing players to higher teams, especially with the talented youngsters coming through the junior ranks of the Club, commenting: “Until we make Tier 1 ourselves, which we all are aiming for at the Club, that I hope that in time, players will seek out our club for it's recognition of good football development, and use us as a stepping stone into higher clubs and it would be great to eventually produce international footballers as a Club. This was one of the first things I said coming into the management role at Aberdare. Having built plenty of contacts within the domestic game in Wales Zoe continued: “I have good relationships with four major premier league clubs in Welsh Women's football, so I have no doubts that we will have more players over the coming seasons making that step into that level of football with these connections, and I'll be supportive of every player that comes through our doors at any age, with ambitions of top tier football in Wales”. Everybody at the Club wishes Hope all the best for her future footballing career.
