We
are
thrilled
to
announce
that
Grace
Evans
has
been
chosen
as
the
FAW’s
Rising
Star
for
South
Wales
in
their 14th annual awards.
Grace was chosen by an awards panel after being nominated for her amazing work within the Club over the last year.
She
has
risen
through
the
junior
ranks
to
become
part
of
our
new
adult
women’s
side
and
when
the
Club
was
approached
by
a
couple
of
parents
wanting
to
see
if
we
could
start
an
Under
7s
side
for
girls
Grace
stepped
up
and
volunteered as she wanted to put something back into the Club.
The
opening
sessions
were
low
on
numbers
but
they
had
immense
fun
and
since
then
she
has
grown
the
team
and
they now have a full squad and are looking forward to their first season ahead.

on
the
award
Club
Secretary
David
Sweet
said:
“We
are
absoluteley
delighted
for
Grace.
Somebody
of
her
age
setting
up
an
Under
7s
team
from
scratch
during
the
pandemic
is
nothing
short
of
remarkable.
All
of
the
girls
she coaches are complete beginners to the game.
“She’s
wonderful
with
the
little
ones
and
has
earned
the
trust
of
their
parents
who
regularly
tell
me
how
much
their
daughters
enjoy
the
game
because
of
their
weekly
time
with
Grace.
She
is
an
excellent
player
herself
and
a
very
good
coach - she truly is a rising star”.
Another
FAW
panel
will
now
sit
and
look
at
all
the
regional
winners
of
the
award
before
announcing
the
national
winner
for 2021. We all wish Grace the best of luck!
