We   are   saddened   to   have   to   report   that   our   President,   Keith   Vallance,   passed   away   last   night   after   a   short   battle with cancer. Keith   played   for   Poole Town   in   the   English   leagues   and   locally   managed Abernant,   Kings   Head   and   later   moved   onto   the Legion (Aberaman) before becoming President of our Club. Chairman   Garry   Williams   said   of   the   news:   “It   is   with   the   greatest   sadness   that   we   have   to   announce   the   passing   of   our well   loved   and   respected   club   President   Mr   Keith   Vallance.   Keith   passed   away   in   the   early   hours   after   a   courageous battle against pancreatic and liver cancer. “I   was   very   fortunate   to   call   him   my   friend   but   for   the   many   years   I   knew   him   not   only   as   my   first   real   football   coach   and manager but as a life mentor . “A   straight   talking,   say   as   it   is,   man   and   a   lifelong   Southampton   FC   supporter   and   for   the   best   part   of   his   life   a   keen supporter of Aberdare Town (Aberaman Athletic). “Most   of   all   Keith   was   a   proud   father   and   even   more   prouder   grandfather   he   loved   nothing   more   than   spending   time   with his   children   and   grandchildren.   The   last   few   years   or   so   saw   Keith   and   his   devoted   wife   Sheron   found   a   new   passion   in caravaning   in   West   Wales.   It   was   only   very   recently   that   they   had   both   treated   themselves   to   a   new   caravan   and   when   I spoke   to   them   they   were   so   excited   about   spending   more   time   there. As   we   all   know   illness   is   something   we   can't   really do   much   about   and   and   I   just   hope   that   Sheron   can   spend   time   there   remembering   this   wonderful   man   who   I   called   my friend. Rest in peace buddy i will so much miss our chats during the games”. The entire Club sends its thoughts and love to Sheron and their family at this difficult time.
