draw
for
the
preliminary
round
of
the
SWAL

Owen
Cup
has
been
made
and
it
has
given
Aber
an
away tie at Division One side Vale United.
The
game
will
be
played
on
Saturday
15th
January
which
will
take
the
place
of
the
original
home
league
fixture
against
Cefn Cribwr.
The winners of that tie will then play at home against Cefn Cribwr in the first round on Saturday 12th February.
The

John
Owen
Cup
was
inaugurated
in
2006
in
the
South
Wales
Amateur
League
in
recognition
of
the
lifetime
of
sterling service devoted to the League by its President Mr. W. John Owen.
In
2015
on
the
amalgamation
of
the
South
Wales
Amateur
League
and
the
South
Wales
Senior
League
the
cup
was
retained in the newly formed South Wales Alliance League.
The
first
winner
of
the
cup
was
Aber
Valley
and
other
notable
winners
have
been
Blaenrhondda,
Penydarren,
Treflin
and
Cardiff Draconians.
