New manager Ryan Betteney has been busy since his appointment last month and has now completed his backroom staff ahead of the start of pre-season. Will Eastwood will assume the role of assistant manager, while last seasons interim manager Paul Searl has now agreed to remain in a player/coach role. The final coaching addition is Matthew Dickson. Ryan said of the appointments: “The first thing I wanted to do when I arrived was to try and bring some sort of stability to the club, at a time when there would obviously need to be some incomings on the pitch. “Straight away it was obvious the relationship Paul and Will had with the current group, so I’m glad I was able to persuade them to stay on. “Matthew is also another great fit. He knows the area, is well respected by everyone I’ve spoken too and is on the back of success at youth level so I am looking forward to working with him too” Will joined the Club last summer as a player but sadly the striker picked up a serious injury which continues to keep him on the sidelines so now makes the move into a coaching role and as a Club we are delighted he has decided to remain with us. Paul took charge of the last 10 league games of the 2021/22 season having previously been assistant manager. After making a few appearances as a player in the last few games he decided to make a playing return for the new season and after talks with Ryan has agreed to stay with the Club in a dual role that will aid continuity and add playing experience of a good level. The final new addition is locally based Matthew who has recently been the youth team manager of Penrhiwceiber Rangers and developed a good and succesful squad of players. With his local knowledge of players he will be a valuable assist to Ryan. We welcome Will, Paul and Matthew into their new roles at ATFC.
