Aberdare Town youth team have today clinched the South Wales Youth League Dic Penderyn Division with a 2-0 away win at title rivals Ynyscynon. In what has been an outstanding campaign for Dai Lloyd and his fantastic squad both teams were at the top of the table for most of the season but with only three games left to play it all came down to this title deciding match-up at Ynyscynon Park. Going into the game Aber led the way by six points putting them in the driving seat with their hosts knowing that nothing but a win would do to give them a shot at the title going into the last two matches. In what was going to be a nervy 90 minutes it only took 12 minutes for Aberdare to go ahead with Aaron Rowling setting up Brook Fraser and then a penalty from Cameron McHale saw us race into a two goal lead after only 20 minutes. Aber held on for a great win, despite immense pressure from Ynyscynon and the final whistle saw the team and supporters celebrate an immense achievement for such a talented group. Aber are now looking forward to the League Cup semi-final draw, following their 1-0 win on Thursday against AFC Bargoed with a 95th minute winner, as we look to go for the league and cup double. A massive congratulations to all involved in the team, both on and off the field, for bringing home the league title. #uppatown #championee
