a   Level   1   course   in   Sports   Psychology.      He   has   coached   at   Academy   Development   Centres      of   both   Newport   County   and Cardiff   City   while   also   having   experience   with   Risca Academy   and   Caephilly   Schools   where   they   provided   opposition   to   Jayne Ludlow and the senior Welsh Ladies team in their World Cup preparation games against England and Russia. Also   forming   part   of   the   coaching   team   is   Kristian   Collins   who   will   double   up   his   coaching   work   along   with   his   existing commitments   with   our   ladies   team.   Kristian   will   also   be   signing   forms   for   the   Club   and   is   no   stranger   to Aberdare   Town   having picked up the Clubman of the Year in the season before last. We   welcome   both   Terry   and   Kristian   into   the   first   team   squad   along   with   Richard   Evans   who   had   already   been   confirmed   at the time of Simon’s appointment. The final piece of the backroom team is being sought with a physio required for match days and training sessions. Eleven players commit for new season already Wednesday 20th June 2018 Aberdare   boss   Simon   Jones   has   started   getting   his   squad   put   together   for   the   new   season   with   eleven   players confirming their commitment already. Signing   for   the   new   season   is   defenders   Scott   Griffiths,   Daniel   Riddiford, Andrew   Feneroli,   Sam   Phillips   and   Kieron   Bairstow, midfielders Levi Jones, Kevin Connelly and Rhys Thomas, winger Drew Langdon and strikers Mikey Edwards and Brad Lewis. Jones,   Griffiths,   Feneroli   and   Riddiford   all   have   had   Welsh   League   experience   while   Thomas,   Connelly,   Phillips,   Lewis   and Bairstow   all   played   in   the   Reserve   team   over   the   last   couple   of   seasons.      Striker   Edwards   suffered   a   bad   injury   in   the   opening game   of   last   season   and   is   now   back   to   fitness   after   a   year   out   and   looking   forward   to   the   chance   at   the   higher   level   along   with 17 year old winger Langdon who played for much of last season for Ceiber Con. Simon   Jones   who   has   put   his   players   through   two   early   training   sessions   has   been   pleased   with   the   turnouts   so   far   and   more signings   are   expected   shortly:   “We   knew   that   it   was   going   to   be   pretty   much   a   large   rebuild   of   the   squad   but   we   are   still   talking to   new   players   about   joining   us   and   there   are   a   few   we   are   talking   to   with   a   hope   they   will   stay   as   well.   All   those   who   are signing   are   those   that   really   want   to   be   at   the   Club   and   will   fit   into   the   type   of   football   we   want   to   play   which   you   could   see   in the two games at the end of last season”. Merthyr friendly for Aber Wednesday 13th June 2018 Aberdare   Town   are   delighted   to   announce   that   Southern   League   Premier   Division   side   and   local   neighbours   Merthyr Town will be visiting Aberaman Park as part of the build up for the new season. The   friendly   against   the   Martyrs   is   the   only   home   game   and   will   take   place   on Tuesday   31st   July   (ko   7.30pm). Admission   is   set at £3 for adults & concessions and Under 16s are FREE Aberdare    have    lined    up    four    other    friendlies,    all    away    from    home,    which    start    on    Saturday    14th    July    when    we    visit Blaenrhondda   FC   followed   a   week   later   with   a   visit   to   face   Pontyclun.   On   the   28th   July Aber   will   play   old   friends AFC   Porth   on the Abercynon 3G pitch. The Merthyr game then takes centre stage before pre-season is wrapped up on Saturday 4th August against Treowen Stars. The   league   season   will   get   underway   on   Saturday   11th   August.   With   a   brand   new   squad   being   put   together   pre-season training is getting underway slightly earlier than normal on Tuesday 19th June.  Players to meet at the Club at 6.30pm. Preparations   are   also   underway   for   the   ladies   team   with   their   first   friendly   being   confirmed   away   to   Cascade   on   Sunday   5th August. Admission price lowered Tuesday 12th June 2018 With   a   busy   summer   relaunch   ahead   for   the   Club,   Aberdare   Town   have   started   by   making   some   changes   with   their match day admission prices. In   a   bid   to   try   and   increase   our   attendances   the   adult   admission   price   has   been   cut   to   just   £3   while   under   16s   will   continue   to get   in   FREE    while   concession   rates   remain   at   £3.   Match   day   programme   will   now   cost   £1.00   and   will   no   longer   be   included within the admission price. The   Club   will   also   be   introducing   season   tickets   at   a   cost   of   £35   which   will   give   holders   access   to   all   home   league   games   and friendlies.  An application form will be available to download from the website of by emailing website@aberdaretownfc.co.uk . The   Clubs   committee   are   working   hard   on   making   some   big   changes   to   give   the   125   year   old   Club   a   new   lease   of   life   and before   the   new   season   kicks   off   a   refurbishment   of   the   club   house   is   being   planned   along   with   a   full   ground   clear   up,   changes to match day ogranisation including a new match day office and a renovation of the refreshment outlet. Meetings   have   also   started   with   officials   from   our   successful   and   ever   expanding   girls   and   ladies   section   which   will   see   a much closer working relationship including a new social calendar of events. As   well   as   the   upcoming Annual   General   Meeting,   which   is   scheduled   for   the   26th   June   (when   the   ‘1892   Club   will   be   drawn), the   Club   are   also   preparing   to   hold   an   open   evening   with   all   those   with   an   in   interest   in   the   Club   from   the   boys,   girls,   ladies and mens sections can come along and help shape the future direction of the Club by airing their views. Dapper FM are our first community partner Monday 11th June 2018 Aberdare   Town   Football   Club   and   local   Aberdare   radio   station   Dapper   FM   are   delighted   to   announce   they   have agreed a Community Partnership deal. Both   organisations   serve   the   local   area   and   by   agreeing   this   arrangement   it   is   hoped   to   boost   the   awareness   of   both   both   in Aberdare and further afield. From   Dapper   FM   Jonathan   ‘Eggy’   Evans   said:   “We   are   pleased   to   link   up   with   the   towns   football   team   and   will   be   helping however   we   can.   We   recently   located   to   a   brand   new   purpose   built   studio   based   in   Jacs   and   are   looking   to   improve   our   output and   anybody   who   wants   to   get   involved   we   will   be   delighted   to   hear   from   you.      Like   the   football   club   we   have   expenses   to   pay regularly to stay on air so any donations are most welcome”.
