A dry but overcast afternoon saw this 10 goal thriller played on an immaculate 3G pitch which ended 5-5 after Aber found themselves trailing 5-2 in the second half. Aber having defeated their hosts in an early season cup-tie saw a seventh minute drive from the home left seeing Kellan Webb making a good save before a close range Aber chance was cleared from the goal-line. Immediately play swept to the other end and, on 13 minutes, the ball was rifled home. On 17 minutes Aber levelled as a Jack Salmon left side corner was not cleared and Mason Howells flicked home. 24 minutes saw Heolgerrig put a close range chance over the bar but, after a Macauley Morgan effort had been cleared, the hosts went 2-1 up on 28 minutes on the counter-attack. The half-hour saw Will De Sousa skew a shot wide and a Kieran Rodway pass to Oscar Din saw the home 'keeper tip his shot over the bar. The 39th minute saw another Salmon corner from the left not dealt with and predator Howells made it 2-2. De Sousa blazed an attempt over as it was all square at the break. Within 2 minutes of the restart a move down the home right saw a rebound off the post for a tap-in. 54 minutes saw a Morgan drive parried by the 'keeper but inside another minute a home left corner was easily finished for a 4-2 lead. The hour saw Webb unable to continue and replaced in goal by Lewis Reed from the bench. The away defence was exposed again as an easy effort made it 5-2. Aber faced a daunting last half-hour but, on 65 minutes, Din beat the offside trap to make it 3-5. After De Sousa had a shot saved, 83 minutes saw Morgan through and round the home No.1 to give Aber a 4-5 deficit. Within a minute the Aberdare following were celebrating as De Sousa smashed in an unstoppable effort from 25 yards to make it 5-5. The home team, having had one dismissal, again threatened down the wings as they had done all afternoon but a good block by Southern Rowlands and a fine tip over by Reed kept the scores level. It was almost glory for Aber as substitute Liam John was free in front of goal but was unable to capitalize, his first being parried and the follow-up being scrambled away. A fine fight -back from Aber which almost ended in a victory. Saturday 22nd November sees another away league trip to play Treorchy at 2.00 p.m. Team: Kellan Webb (Lewis Reed), Cai Mckenzie, Elliott Hewings (Southern Rowlands), Alex Jacklin (Cam Walker), Callum Tandy, Kieran Rodway (Kevin Davies), Jack Salmon, Oscar Din (Liam John), Macaulay Morgan, Mason Howells, Will de Sousa Subs not used: - Player of the Match: Jack Salmon
