Report by: Ray Pearce Photo by: Beth Kelly Photography Another difficult task awaited the new look Aberdare as they visited high-riding Clwb Cymric who surprisingly had not won a home league match this season. A gorgeous afternoon with a chill in the air at the 3G complex saw first starts for youth team keeper Nyles Vaughan and Thamsanqua Nyathi and Iestyn Thomas who both have signed from Treharris Athletic. Vaughan was in early action when going low to tip away a shot in the 2nd minute. Aber were unable to mount any serious attacks as Vaughan again did well to save on 19 minutes. However, a home right hand corner on 33 minutes was knocked in for a Clwb lead. 2 minutes before the break saw the hosts hit the crossbar and make it 2-0 with an easy lob after the away defence had failed to clear on the cusp of half-time. With the Aber following hoping for an improvement, they were disappointed within the first minute of the second half as poor defending resulted in an easy tap in for 3-0. Player of the Match Vaughan again saved well on 50 minutes to rescue his defence. Both sides made substitutions but there was little difference in the flow of play as the hosts made it 4-0 with an easy header from a left side corner. Despite more Clwb attempts there was no further scoring with the home No.1 never seriously troubled. After two difficult fixtures for a side still trying to gel, Cardiff Bay Warriors visit the Easy Panels Stadium on Saturday 1st February with a 2.00 pm. start.
