Report by: Ray Pearce
A
dry
and
breezy
afternoon
saw
a
visit
to
the
Cardiff
University
3G
complex
to
try
to
avenge
an
earlier defeat to Cardiff Cosmopolitan.
The
worst
possible
start
for
Aber
as
a
through
ball
inside
the
first
minute
saw
Cardiff
free
to
knock
the
ball
past
Dylan
Pearce
for
the opener.
The
5
minute
mark
saw
Rhys
Lewis
get
back
to
prevent
the
hosts
having
another
effort
while
a
cross
from
the
home
left
on
8
minutes just evaded the onrushing forward.
A
fine
Aber
move
down
their
left
saw
Southern
Rowlands
attempt
go just past the far post on 11 minutes.
Within
another
5
minutes
the
hosts
went
2
ahead
when
a
shot
was parried by Pearce only for the rebound to be converted.
Iestyn
Thomas
had
a
free
kick
go
wide
for
the
visitors
while
a
good
run
from
Thamsanqa
Nyathi
on
26
minutes
saw
his
shot
saved.
Player
of
the
Match
Pearce
then
made
3
good
saves
shortly
after
the
half-hour
but
another
easy
finish
on
36
minutes
saw
a
3-0
home lead as it stayed until the break.
Two
Aber
substitutions
for
the
second
45
saw
youth
team
players
Dylan
Davies
and
Lewis
Pritchard
enter
the
fray
but
on
53
Cardiff
notched their fourth with a neat lob from their left.
On
the
hour
it
was
5-0
as
a
raid
down
the
left
side
saw
a
strike
inside Aber's near post.
A
free
kick
from
Aber's
Luke
Boyle
on
63
minutes
clattered
the
cross bar for the nearest his side were to come.
Just
before
the
3
quarter
hour
mark
Cardiff
had
an
easy
run
forward
to
clinch
the
6-0
final
score,
Pearce
denying
another
just
before the end.
