Report by: Ray Pearce Photos by: Beth Kelly Photography This re-arranged Dragon Signs Cup Tie saw Aberdare entertain Llangeinor from Division 1 West who had won their three league games away from home so far. Missing Luke Boyle and Aaron Rowling the home side attacked the Town end on a glorious afternoon. Alex Adshead, on his return, headed wide on 2 minutes before an away superb ball from their left saw the visitors blaze over. A fine through ball from Kellan Webb sent Jay Smith in for an attempt which ended in the net but was accredited as an own goal by the away defender. Within 5 minutes Llangeinor had again shot over while Aber had an effort knocked off the line after a corner.

34 minutes saw a corner for Aber, after a good raid down the right, fumbled by the away 'keeper but not taken advantage of. Misplaced home passes saw the visitors gain a foothold in the game only to again shoot wide just before the break. A slow start from the hosts saw Dan Field having to make a good save at the start of the second half, but it was no surprise when an equalizer was bundled in after 48 minutes. The home team seemed to lose their shape as the visitors became more dangerous and went ahead on 63 minutes when the Aber defence did not deal with a close range effort. Home substitutions had little effect as the guests should have added a third when in on goal. Aber tried to take the tie to penalties but there were few scares as time ran out. A disjointed performance saw Aberdare lose their third consecutive home game, the visiting contingent deservedly going through to the next round. Team: Dan Field, Jordan Jones (Shay Welch ‘50), Jack Carlick, Alex Adshead, Sam Weaver, Leon Jacka, Kellan Webb (Cameron Dean ‘56), Cameran Sage (Josh Davies ‘76), Connor Berry, Jay Smith, Liam Miles Sub not used: Southern Rowlands, Nyles Vaughan
