Report by: Ray Pearce Photo by: Beth Kelly Photography A cool, dry and still afternoon saw Aberdare take on AFC Wattstown with Kellan Webb starting, Josh Davies absent on holiday while the rest of the squad comprised of a young bench. Early play saw the visitors gain 4 corners which were without result but the 13th minute saw them take the lead when Dylan Pearce ran from goal but his attempted clearance was blocked as the ball rolled over the line. Aber were caught offside by the alert Wattstown defence but the quarter hour mark saw Connor Berry's effort over the bar. Cameron Dean had a good run down the right only for the away side to concede a fruitless corner. A fine move on 34 minutes from Aber saw a Leon Jacka cross to the far post netted by Berry for the leveler on his 50th appearance for the Club. Aber had a good chance to go ahead on 39 minutes but Jacka's cross into the box was not turned home. Right on half-time Aberdare's appeal for offside was rejected as their guests netted a comfortable finish for a 2- 1 advantage. The second half saw the hosts have a Jacka corner headed off the away line on 48 minutes, a Berry cross from the right was put wide by Luke Boyle soon after. Pearce saved well from an away effort, the hour mark saw the home defence not clearing for a simple Wattstown third goal. Aber substitutions tried to rectify the situation but their guests were resilient, particularly on the counter. Pearce saved a 1 on 1 before a Jacka attempt on the 3/4 hour mark, after an indirect free kick, saw his attempt hit the crossbar. That was as good as it got for Aber as the away side coped comfortably, Pearce again thwarting them with 3 minutes left. A third 3-1 defeat in a row for Aberdare with the away side having space to make their dangerous forays. Saturday 9th November sees another tough encounter at Treforest at 2.00 p.m. Team: Dylan Pearce, Jordan Jones (Jack Ford), Alex Adshead (Logan Thomas), Sam Weaver, Ashton Francis- Carrington, Aaron Rowling, Leon Jacka, Cameron Dean, Connor Berry, Luke Boyle (Southern Rowlands), Kellan Webb (Cameran Sage) Sub not used: Corey Hansford
