A return to Pentre 3G to take on Treorchy on a rain swept afternoon saw enforced changes to the Aberdare side after the previous week's success but the team fell to a 2-0 defeat. Lucas Lohuis made his debut for Aber in defence but Aber were missing five players from the previous weeks win with Alex Jacklin, Callum Tandy, Joe White, Jacob Blake and Kai Davies all unavailable. A good attendance saw a 10th minute cross from the Aber right just evade Victor Angaye while an 18th minute home effort was superbly blocked by Aber 'keeper Sam Josey. 22 minutes saw a home bicycle kick go over as another attempt went wide from close range. After Southern Rowlands collided with the metal barriers he was unable to continue and replaced by Hadley Taylor as the half finished goalless - and even a break from the rain couldn’t help during the interval with the Aber squad unable to access their changing room. Josey tipped away an early home effort but the 53rd minute saw one of Treorchy's numerous corners firmly headed home for 1-0. The visitors closest shot on goal came with a Jack Salmon free kick which was well saved by the home No.1. In the 70th minute the referee deemed that the visitors had made a deliberate back pass to the chagrin of most involved. The resulting indirect free kick from inside the penalty area did not hit the target. The away following thought their side had equalized in the 86th minute but offside was given. Manger Kellan Webb had already emptied his bench but the hosts secured their victory in added time with a right side cross and an easy tap in. A disappointing match for all concerned with Aberdare, without scoring for the first time in league action, with a chance to get back to winning ways on Saturday 28th February when hosting title chasing Tongwynlais (2.00 pm.) Team: Sam Josey, Jackson Barker, Southern Rowlands (Hadley Taylor), Elliott Hewings (Kellan Webb), Floran Disco, Lucas Lohuis, Cai McKenzie, Oscar Din (Jayden Hopkins), Jack Salmon, Victor Angaye, Rufaro Gunundu (Cameron Walker) Subs not used: Alex Jacklin Player of the Match: -
