A glorious afternoon saw Aberdare with more enforced changes to the squad as
they attempted to get back to winning ways when hosting Treorchy, the guests
having enjoyed a 2-0 home success over Aber on a recent rainswept day, but were
cruelly defeated 2-1
Aber defended the Town end as both sides had early attacks without result until Player Manager
Kellan Webb lobbed just wide on 8 minutes from distance with the Treorchy 'keeper off his line.
A home slip soon after saw an away effort blocked by Joe White for a fruitless corner.
The thirteenth minute saw the guest's No.1 not clear sufficiently with Nathan Sage gaining possession
and Player of the Match Victor Angaye slotting home for an Aber 1-0 lead.
A 19th minute home wayward back pass saw an away corner which was cleared before another
Treorchy shot was well blocked, Alex Jacklin sustaining an injury but was able to continue.
The half-hour saw an away equalizer as the ball was easily knocked home from close range.
Treorchy enjoyed several balls crossed into the box which were dealt with as the break came at 1-1.
An early second half corner from Jack Salmon was overhit, the 53rd minute saw a good ball from
Southern Rowlands to Angaye who was fouled but the Salmon free kick was headed clear.
A double substitution saw Hadley Taylor and Jackson Barker introduced to the fray for the hosts, a
fine Angaye run down the right on 70 minutes denied at the expense of an Aber corner which again
came to nothing.
Treorchy sent in a left side corner on 76 minutes which was blocked at the far post while, after an
injury stoppage, an away corner had no outcome.
Disappointment on 88 minutes for Aberdare as Treorchy went 2-1 up with a close range comfortable
finish.
By now, Aber had all but emptied their bench and resorted to all out attack. However, after 11 minutes
of added time they were unable to break through and suffered another damaging defeat.
