We are delighted to announce the singing of Lee Hartshorn. One of the most recognizable names in South Wales football the experienced central defender has become Kevin Davies first signing of the summer rebuild. Known as ‘Arch’ to many he spent several seasons with Merthyr Town as well as clubs such as Llanelli Town, Newtown, Pontypridd as well as a brief spell with Aberdare under Matt Driscoll back in 2017. His experience which is seen as vital to the new look Aber squad also includes clubs such as Mangotsfield United and Cinderford Town in England. Kev said of his first singing: “It was really important to be able to bring in somebody of the stature of Arch to help us build a new look squad, with his experience of playing at such a good level it will really give everybody a lift. He is somebody that I have known for many years and played with him at various clubs too, so having somebody I trust and gets what we are trying to do is massive for us”. Lee was also pleased to be back at Aberaman Park “The way the Club is run off the pitch has come on massively over the last few years and you can see the amount of hard work that is going into turning it around and getting Aberdare back to where it should be. When Kev phoned me I wanted to be part of what he is putting together and after meeting up with him and Ian (Pearce, General Manager) at the weekend I knew it was the right move and now the hard work starts”. SPONSORSHIP - WANT TO GET INVOLVED? With a new era starting at Aberare we are looking for new sponsors to go on the playing kit, tracksuits and polo shirts. Interested in being #bePARTofIT?
