Taking on a management job at a new club is difficult at the best of times, but when it’s your first job in management and have the task of rebuilding a squad from scratch it makes it even tougher! Since his appointment, just two months ago, it has been a really positive experience for Kevin Davies. “I was under no illusions how tough it was going to be but at the same time I knew that we could still attract a good quality of players and it has been unbelievable how many we have had attending training sessions each week so I am really happy where we are already. “Pre-season has been really good with some good performances which is more important than the results. The St Josephs game was always going to be a tough one for us as a new team and we were missing a lot of our players that night and I am sure if we played the game again now it would be a different outcome. “I have been really impressed with the attitude, commitment and ability of all those who have come in, the couple that were still here from last season and also those who have been in the youth team…. a crucial thing for any club is having that bridge between senior and youth team. “It has also been a new management team that has come together and they have been supportive and dedicated and I am really happy with the support around me both as coaches and that from the clubs committee too. “Training has given us a platform of high intensity and the fitness levels have been excellent so far but one of the key attributes is the team spirit that is already there. It has been brilliant to see and all these elements will be important for us to have a good season. “We get underway on Saturday in the JD Welsh Cup and we know that it will be a tough encounter against a team that have just been promoted so will be on a high still. Please come down to the Easy Panels Stadium and cheer the lads on and join us on what we all hope will be a successful and enjoyable season”. Kick off on Saturday is at 2pm at the Easy Panels Stadium against Pentyrch Rangers and admission is £2.00 for adults and under 16s are FREE!
