A glorious afternoon saw Aberdare hoping to bounce back from the heavy loss at
Penywaun , but were again disappointed with a heavy 1-6 defeat when hosting AFC
Oak.
Necessary changes to the home squad as suspensions and unavailability saw another different
starting line-up.
After a lively opening, the visitors went 1 up on 12 minutes when a run down their left saw a
comfortable finish.
23 minutes saw busy Aber 'keeper Carwyn Webber do well to save an Oak close range attempt but
beaten by a header from the rebound for a 0-2 score.
A home right side corner could not be forced home, Lance Lewis soon shooting straight at the away
'keeper.
It was 3-0 to Oak on 39 minutes as a superb shot from 30 yards nestled under the cross-bar. Webber
tipped another effort over before, right on half-time, a Kai Davies free kick was spilled by the visiting
No.1 only for Aber to scoop over from close range.
The 45th minute melee had seen an injury to Oak's custodian, their sub-keeper replacing him for the
second half.
After Lance Lewis had been denied, a 47th minute run down their left saw challenges evaded and the
fourth goal rolled home for the visitors.
Immediately, 2 more away attempts went wide, the introduction of Aber substitutes Ceri Jones and
Tyler Lewis hoping to ease the situation.
The 58th minute saw a home raid on the visitors box and Tyler Lewis net for Aber's opener.
On the 3 quarter-hour an away break down their right saw the final central effort put over, 10 minutes
from the end a long clearance from Oak's replacement 'keeper saw an easy run through for 5-1.
Alex Bennett and youth team player John Darran entered the fray late on but it got worse for the
hosts on full-time as another unopposed attack made it 6-1
