After the pitch was passed fit despite the previous rain, Aber visited Carnetown and, after the excellent 3-3 draw on the previous Tuesday, another exciting contest finished at 4-4 Aberdare made just 2 changes to the mid-week starting eleven, taking the lead in the 7th minute when player- manager Jordan Price and Lance Lewis combined to set up Kai Davies for a fine finish. However, within a minute the home side were level with Aber not perceiving the threat. 21 minutes saw Aberdare thinking they had gone back ahead but were denied by an offside decision. The 35th minute saw a big let off as the hosts had an attempt off the Aber crossbar and the follow-up not taken advantage of. Within 1 minute Carnetown were ahead as a long ball was not dealt with, resulting in a comfortable finish. Lance Lewis evaded challenges but shot just wide, setting up Nicky Morgan right on half-time but he could not convert from close range. After a disappointing first 45, Aber introduced Rhys Walters and Jon Williams, Price doing well on 50 minutes to win a fruitless corner, the same player heading against the post soon after. He was not to be denied on 57 minutes as Dre Evans put him through to round the 'keeper and net for 2-2. The home side immediately ran through only for Southern Rowlands to race back and avert the danger. 66 minutes saw a 3-2 lead for the hosts as pace took them in for another easy finish. Alex Bennett and Tyler Lewis joined from the bench as the visitors tried to get back into the game. The 74th minute saw Player of the Match Price set up Tyler Lewis for 3-3. Carnetown went 4-3 up on 79 minutes as a break down their left saw an easy tap-in. To the delight of the travelling support, it was 4-4 on 85 minutes as Lance Lewis crossed for Price to net his second. Cam Ryder came on as the final away substitute as Town looked to try and get a winner. Both sides still attacked but the final whistle saw the fixture end all-square. Another entertaining contest with both sides giving their all. Saturday 5th September sees Aberdare host AFC Abercynon with a 2.30.p.m. start. HALF SOAKED LAUNDRY MAN OF THE MATCH was Jordan Price.
