Just 2 changes in the Aberdare starting line-up from Saturday's success as they hosted league leaders Penywaun on a slightly drizzly evening in front of another bumper crowd who witnessed a fine 3-3 draw. Aber attacked the Town end in the first half but the visitors had a ninth minute corner which was well held by home 'keeper Carwyn Webber. Within a minute the home side forced a right side corner which was cleared but on the quarter-hour a home free-kick just outside the opponents box saw a superb Kai Davies effort curl into the corner for a 1-0 lead. 20 minutes saw Penywaun direct a header at Webber and within 60 seconds they were level as, after the ball had hit the cross-bar, a close range follow-up was capitalised on. 26 minutes had the away supporters happy as, with Aber not clearing from defence, an easy header made it 2-1 to the visitors. Amazingly a minute later, Player-Manager Jordan Price and Lance Lewis combined for Dre Evans to slot home well for 2- 2 in what was turning out to be an end to end game. The guests had a good away foray finally put over the bar and, right on half-time, were through on goal but put the attempt wide. After Rhys Davies had entered the fray as an early substitute, Price made a fine run past several opponents but with no end result. On the hour, Price set up the Half Soaked Laundry Services Player of the Match Lance Lewis who evaded challenges to roll home for a 3-2 Aberdare lead. Tyler Lewis was introduced from the bench, but Penywaun made it 3-3 on 70 minutes with an excellent curling shot to Webber's far corner. All to play for as the 80th minute saw Aberdare give the ball away but the visitors shot wide. No further alarms for either side as the 3-3 result, which was well refereed, saw a creditable result after a thoroughly entertaining contest which was a great advert for the Aberdare Valley Football League.
