After the previous week's defeat, Aberdare were hoping to go back to winning ways when hosting Penrhiwceiber Social who had lost their first 2 games and were to suffer a 3-0 loss this time. On a mercifully cooler evening in front of a lower attendance than previously, Aber defended the Town end, the returning Dan Field in goal sent a long kick to Kai Davies forcing a corner but without subsequent result. Player-Manager Jordan Price evaded a defender, his pass put just past the post by Tyler Lewis. After the visitors had volleyed wide from a corner, the Penrhiwceiber No.1 saved well from Lewis. A 22nd minute away attack down their left saw Field save at the expense of a fruitless corner. The visitors repulsed home build-up comfortably, neither 'keeper seriously troubled until, in the 35th minute, Field had to race from his goal to clear. The 42nd minute saw a fine Jayden Hopkins run resulting in a foul just outside the penalty area, a superb Kai Davies free kick rocketing home for a 1-0 lead. Dissent from 2 away players saw 10 minute sin bins either side of half-time. With a 2 man advantage, Aberdare forced an early second- half corner which was headed wide and a Rory Brown free kick from the right headed over by Price. The guests defended well until their return to full strength. On the hour , they thought they had equalised but were denied by an offside decision. Aber went 2-0 ahead in the 67th minute when Price was instrumental in an Aber left side attack, the resulting high ball being headed in by Lance Lewis who had just entered the fray. The visitors put a chance wide from close range on 84 minutes before a corner from substitute Lewis Reed in added time saw it cleared to fellow sub Rhys Walters who rifled home through a crowded box. A satisfactory 3 points for Aber against a side that battled throughout.
